Sandro De Falco

Co-founder, graduated in Biology at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 1985, defended his PhD thesis in Biochemical Sciences at the same University in 1990. He was CEE post-doc fellow at the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris (1990-1991). Later, he was the coordinator of Molecular and Cellular Biology laboratory at Tecnogen S.p.A (1994-2000) coordinating projects on infective and autoimmune diseases.

His interest on angiogenesis started when he joined the group of Graziella Persico at the Institute of Genetics and Biophysics of the National Research Council (IGB-CNR) and thanks to an EMBO fellowship at the Center for Transgene Technology and Gene Therapy, in Leuven, Belgium (2000-2001). Currently, Senior Scientist at the IGB-CNR where since 2005 is leading the laboratory for the study of angiogenesis.

He has coordinated several research projects aimed at studying the pathological and physiological angiogenesis, funded by private and public agencies, including Telethon Italia Foundation, the Italian Association for the Research on Cancer (AIRC), the European Community, the Italian Ministry of Scientific Research (MIUR), the Campania Region, and pharmaceutical companies as Abbott Diagnostics, Bayer, Thrombogenics N.V., SIFI, Sigma-Tau, Bio-Ker.

He has been Scientific Advisor for Abbott Diagnostics, Bayer, Multimedica. He is author of 65+ papers on ISI journals and inventor of 10+ patents.
